(I have only seen like 8 random episodes of Sevens, so this is wildly speculative.) The smiley face in the dark represents the life that Swirls/Swirly/Yuga leaves behind in his aftermath of his duel in Yuo.
His past identity as Yuga Goha was left in the darkness and hidden by the light. However, darkness too has its ability to conceal- conceal and smother down the friendships he had made in the last few months(?). Despite who Swirly truly is, his friendship isn’t questioned immediately just because he’s a Goha. It does not matter what name he goes by.
However, as previously stated, Yuga appears to disavow his time as Swirls. The truth of his past comes to ‘light,’ and that is what he chooses, and in doing so, he goes from sillay to slay, hence the silly face being behind him.
